The Vision....

 It all started with a vision
. . . . and a seedling.


The Mountain Man Tree Farm at Cowles, New Mexico, tucked deep in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, is owned and operated by Frank Collins, a retired civil engineer.  With a life-long gardening and landscaping hobby, Frank has become a natural at tree care.  He acquired his eleven-acre mountainside land in 1963, and began a tree nursery with a few hundred tiny seedlings in 1983.  By 1993 the vision had grown to include ten species of pine trees, spruce trees, fir trees and juniper trees with the Tree Farm including prepared terraces, ponds and a waterfall.

Now the Mountain Man has several hundred pine trees, fir trees, juniper trees and spruce trees, all of which are native-grown, pesticide-free trees that have been raised in the pure, clean air and good vibrations of the northern New Mexico mountains.

Ten separate species native to the area are available.  All trees are ready to go in plastic pots of one, two and three gallon sizes.
